What kind of art did the Germanic nomadic invaders make when they were pagans?
1. work that contained simple decorations
2. large monolithic crosses
3. luxury items such as illuminated manuscripts
4. small and portable items, often in metal
The “when they were pagans” part is a red herring. All nomadic peoples go for small portable items. Think about it a moment, and you’ll see why.
